BANGOR—Eighth place Bangor High boys basketball travels to the #1 Oxford Hills Vikings this week for a quarterfinal playoff game appearance.

In a year of rebuilding, the Rams capped off their regular season with a 2-16 record. The boys will play at the 17-1 Vikings’ home court on Thursday at 6:00.

“Coming into the season we lost 14 players from last year’s team,” said head coach Brad Libby. “We knew we would be young, but we have great kids that work extremely hard.”

The girls’ basketball team will be playing at home at the same time, facing off against the Deering Rams. The girls ended their season with a 15-3 record.

“They have worked to get better every day on the practice floor and everyone is able to see the progress they have had,” Libby said. “We continue to work to get better with our eyes set on making a run in the tournament.”
